"Yet I still dare to hope.."
The past month has been filled with some very stressful situations and those stressful situations seemed to have spilled out into our family. My husnabd and I talked about how we are dealing with the stresses we are facing and realizing that we need to learn to handle stress in a new and better way. I don't know about you but when my kids aren't doing well and I see that the reason is a result of the way I have been reacting/responding to them it goes deep into that Mommy spot. My heart has been heavy for the past few days and I have shared some tears as I have talked with the Lord about all this. Sometimes I allow myself to give excuses to my behavior because of the stress however truth is it only produces negative results that bring more stress or disappointment etc.
I read this statement today "STAND in the midst of the junk". I love it! Hardship is ineviatble and often unavoidable and so instead of trying to hide from it or to make it go away etc, I will STAND in the midst of the junk and trust that God is working behind the scenes to clear the way. (Eph. 6:13)
"Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! ..his mercies begin a fresh each morning." Lam. 3:22,23

So today I dare to hope and instead of looking for an answser in myself I turn my face toward the living God this new day and ask for his help and wait quietly and peacefully for that help to come.

Hi Rebecca. I live in Western Turkey, to, but a bit further south than you I think. This looks like a great blog. Keep at it! I'm sure it will be an encouragement to many mothers!
ReplyDeleteBecki,
ReplyDeleteYour post was meant for me today. I've thinking a lot this week about how much what I do effects how my kids act. That scripture in Lam. is one of my favorites. Thank you so much for sharing this today.

This song is always encouraging to me in times like that.

Becky,
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found your blog! I am a mom of two young kids living in Istanbul at the moment...and yes, I could definitely do with some new ideas for crafts and activities here!
As I glanced over your recent posts, I had to laugh at how much of it resonated with me - even down to the creative snack foods - I do that with my kids too :)
And I actually JUST printed out Lam. 3: 22-23 yesterday and framed it for my living room - love that TRUTH.

ReplyDeleteI was catching up on some of my favorite blogs this week (and yours is one of them!) and this post brought me to tears! Thank you for your honesty and openness--the scriptures were what my struggling heart needed today.
